Guaranteed Income Press Release Packets
The Mayor's Office of Children and Family Success (MOCFS) was tasked with launching a Guaranteed Income Pilot program as a joint effort with mayors across the city who are advocating for a national guaranteed income. I conducted research in support of guaranteed income, compiling information on the cost-benefit analysis of guaranteed income programs and the long-term impact of cash transfer programs on employment, violence prevention, housing security, financial security, and early childhood development. I also crafted brief reports and presentations for distribution to key stakeholders across Baltimore City in support of the Baltimore Young Family Success Fund.
Guaranteed Income Grant Excerpt
In addition to research reports, I also drafted a successful application for $4.8 million in federal funds and drafted several successful grant proposals for an additional $200,000 in philanthropic funds to launch Baltimore City's Guaranteed Income Pilot Project the Baltimore Young Family Success Fund (BYFSF).
Children's Cabinet Progress Report
MOCFS created the Baltimore Children's Cabinet in 2021 as a way to convene city and state agencies and community leaders around increasing the city’s collective investment in its children and youth. The Children Cabinet's work focuses on seven increased early childhood development, youth literacy, and youth diversion practices, and decreased youth food insecurity, youth homelessness, and barriers to success for Black boys and young men. I served as a liaison between MOCFS and the children's cabinet members. Some of my Children's Cabinet work included conducting annual progress reports and providing support for how funds were invested.
